Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Alan Carr and emerge victorious in the game of deceit are 21 stars from the worlds of comedy, acting, music, modelling, and broadcasting. They’ll compete to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities in their roles as Traitors and Faithfuls at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands. Filming has already wrapped, with the contestants and host Claudia Winkleman remaining tight-lipped on the outcome… but if past series are anything to go by, we’re sure there’ll be fireworks. Also returning will be spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by Ed Gamble and offering viewers a deep dive into the cast’s scheming, murderous ways and the eliminations after they air. Episode one is an extra-long special beginning at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series will air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm. The BBC has confirmed to Metro that we’re getting ten episodes, which means the new season should come to an end on October 30. Comedian Rob Beckett was among the stars bewildered by their cast photo. Sharing the photo on Instagram, he wrote: ‘I think there’s a traitor in the photoshop department…. what the f**k has happened to my face?’ Joanne McNally also had some complaints about the Celebrity Taritors trailer released ahead of this week’s broadcast, after finding a lot of the footage barely featured her and some of her fellow contestants. It’s the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my career; it’s so exciting. ‘And every time I’m not in any of them. I’m like, okay, that’s cool. I’m sure it’s fine. Probably, maybe they’re like, she makes such an impact on the show that we don’t want to oversaturate her at this stage. I’m sure it’s fine. ‘I did do it, didn’t I? Imagine if I tried to text Maya Jama now and she’s like, “Who is this?” I was like, oh my god, I made the whole thing up in my head.’ Any fan of the show knows that watching the show is stressful enough; imagine taking part in it, with reports coming that comedian James Acaster particularly felt the psychological strain. A source has revealed to The Sun that castmates reportedly raised concerns with the Studio Lambert production team, who paused the game to check on him. ‘The show is incredibly intense, and during one particular scene at the castle, James became very anxious and panicked,’ the insider said. ‘Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said cameras should stop rolling so he could calm down, and production were in agreement as well.’ James Acaster is part of the all-star cast (Picture: :BBC/Studio Lambert/Cody Burridge/BBC Creative) Who could win The Celebrity Traitors season 2? It’s hard to say who will win The Celebrity Traitors season 2 at this point; however, a few dark horses have already started to emerge. Alan Carr told Metro at the National Television Awards that Miranda Hart was the dark horse to watch out for. ‘Do you know what? I’m super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me, and if they make her a Traitor, that is gonna be TV gold,’ he told us. I had a brief chat with Michael Sheen,’ he said. ‘I had a longer chat with Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, Maya Jama.’ Considering how well Jonathan did, it’d be silly not to think these people won’t be dangerous players.
