Quinta Brunson's acclaimed series "Abbott Elementary" follows the staff at the titular Philadelphian public school, enthusiastic workers trying to do their best with the odds against them — even when they drive each other up the wall. Why you should watch it: I don't have many "comfort" shows, but "Abbott Elementary" is one of the few I'll watch again and again. It's a kind and hilarious series that takes on systemic issues in the education system with plenty of personality and charm. The show (rightly) continues to earn its flowers come award season. Season 5 finally made its way to HBO Max, though you'll need Disney+ to watch the latest Season 6 when it comes out this October.Watch "Abbott Elementary" on HBO Max nowGet instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.'The Run for a Million' (Paramount+) (Image credit: Paramount)Genre: The world of horse-reining's biggest event of the yearWhat it's about: 16 elite horseriders converge on the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas to strut their stuff in challenges from cutting and working cow horse, to youth reining and breakaway roping. Steven Soderbergh’s new movie "The Christophers" centers on Lori (Michaela Coel), a former art forger who's now on the straight and narrow. Or at least she was, until the children of legendary painter Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) hire her to work as his assistant. Julian’s son (James Corden) and daughter (Jessica Gunning) have far less innocent intentions. They want Lori to forge their father’s unfinished paintings so they can sell them after his death and pocket a fortune. Lori initially agrees to the scheme, but as she spends more time with the cantankerous Julian, she begins to question whether she can go through with it.Why you should watch it: This movie got rave reviews, and it's currently sitting at a 95% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
