The British Museum has announced a series of measures to improve the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition experience after complaints from visitors.The 11th-century embroidery, which depicts the Norman conquest of England, went on public display last month and has proved one of the museum's most sought-after exhibitions in recent years. Tickets have already sold out for the remainder of the year. Some visitors have complained about long queues (James Manning/PA)PA WireAs a result, the Museum has announced a series of changes to the exhibition, including extended opening hours.They hope longer opening times will stop queues from building, allow those in later time slots time to get into the gallery, and to space times between allotted visitor bookings.The exact longer opening times and the details of how it will work for those already with tickets have not yet been announced by the museum and are expected soon.Other measures announced include an audio guide introduced from Monday to help visitors experience the Tapestry with extra detail. While anybody who has been turned away will be given a refund and a priority booking slot for a rearranged time. Priority booking will be given to museum members from October 6.
