Wayne Rooney lands major new BBC show as Man Utd legend warns A-list guests ‘I don’t like losing’

The show will be hosted by comedian Alex Brooker and will launch this autumn. Sign up for the Man United newsletter Thank you! Fans will be able to watch it on BBC Sport’s Football YouTube channel and BBC iPlayer, while it will also be available on BBC Sounds and major podcast platforms. Each episode will see Rooney answer football questions against a different guest. But the questions won’t just test his knowledge, they will also bring back stories from his incredible career. That means fans can expect plenty of memories from his Manchester United days, England career, famous goals, team-mates and big matches. And Rooney has admitted his competitive side will come out. He said: “Anyone who knows me knows I’m competitive, whether it’s on a football pitch, playing paddle or on a golf course and even rowing on the Hudson River. It comes after Rooney answered Erling Haaland‘s challenge to fulfil his World Cup rowing pledge and take to New York’s Hudson River following Norway‘s dramatic victory over Brazil.
