These were Walkers English Bangers & Mash, Walkers Wavy Spanish Queso, and Walkers Max Portuguese Chorizo and Onion. But the latest additions to the supermarket shelves from the crisp giant are from the expanding Walkers Sensations range. While they aren’t new flavours, two new variations dropped on July 14, and these are Thai Sweet Chilli Poppadoms and Wavy Cut. Basically it’s the same flavour, but different textures. However, one of them has been dubbed ‘very plain’. Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. Foodie influencer @johns_snackreviews tried both new variations and had some strong thoughts. He’d picked up a 140g gram bag of Wavy Cut crisps for £1.65 from Home Bargains. ‘You know the flavour, but the wavy cut definitely seems Walkers max strong, just slightly crunchier,’ he wrote, giving them a score of seven out of 10. These are made using a combination of potato and gram flour – which comes from milled chickpeas. These only managed a measly five out of 10 from the snack reviewer. He wrote: ‘The poppadom seemed very plain, almost Chinese poppadom texture. ‘The flavour was very light [and] didn’t come through very well at all. Yes, I rinsed my mouth between bags [and] tried again and hour later to be sure.’ John added he wouldn’t buy those Walkers variations again, and it’s important to note that both flavours are likely to be priced at £2.50 in major supermarkets. Another disagreed, saying: ‘Full of flavour, quite spicy really, but they would be absolutely banging mopping up your curry with rice… they’re banging.’ Wayne Newton, senior marketing director at PepsiCo, says: ‘We know that Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli has become a true icon of the premium sharing occasion. ‘This meant that expanding it into our successful Poppadoms range and introducing an all-new Wavy Cut variant was the natural next step in building on this momentum.’ The snacks have also hit the shelves with rebranded packaging, including a refreshed Walkers logo and ingredient pictures, along with a new take on the brand’s swoosh. ‘Combined with our bold new packaging design, these launches mark an exciting new chapter for Sensations,’ Wayne adds. ‘The result is a modern, premium look that delivers even greater shelf standout.’ The rebranded packaging will begin with the new Thai Sweet Chilli launches, and the rest of the Sensations range will have the new design by the end of 2026. This new development has had a much more positive reception than when the Thai Sweet Chilli recipe was changed back in 2023. One savoury snack lover took to X to vent her frustration, asking the company: ‘Why in God’s name has the recipe for Thai Sweet Chilli sensations been changed?! You had already created perfection in crisp form.’ Deals of the Day Wuka launches the UK’s first period-proof swimwear for heavy flows Bridgerton fans are rushing to buy these new Netflix-inspired perfumes now £12 off The affordable summer wardrobe update you'll wear from rooftop drinks to beach holidays The £7.99 lip balm beauty fans love for glossy, hydrated lips just dropped four new shades This Keskine hydrogel mask could fix your summer skin Walkers then admitted that the recipe has been recently changed, although the fanbase is certainly still going strong for the iconic flavour.
