Vijayawada Municipal Corporation: error in printing of party symbols rectified

In connection with the Second Ordinary Municipal Elections–2026, an error was identified in the printing of election symbols allotted to two candidates in Division 55, RR Peta area, under the jurisdiction of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.The division has a total of 8,881 voters, and 9 polling stations have been set up.According to a release from the VMC, immediately after the issue came to light, the Returning Officer responded and initiated the reprinting of ballot papers simultaneously at two printing presses to rectify the error.In addition, the Returning Officer convened a meeting with all contesting candidates, explained the issue, and apprised them of the corrective measures being undertaken, ensuring that all candidates were taken into confidence.With the necessary corrective measures being expedited, arrangements are being completed to commence polling at 9 a.m. Published - November 01, 2026 09:56 am IST
