Vietnam aviation fleet rises by 31 to 258

Vietnamese carriers operate 258 aircraft, an increase of 31 from a year ago, and the number is expected to rise further this year. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said they are registered as Vietnamese by 13 companies that include commercial airlines, general aviation operators, specialized aviation companies, and flight-training providers.Vietjet leads with 107 aircraft, with its fleet comprising 16 Airbus A320s, 83 Airbus A321s and eight wide-body Airbus A330s.In September, it took delivery of another Airbus A330 as it continues to expand its international network and prepares for higher demand toward the end of the year.It has placed orders for more than 400 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, with deliveries planned through 2030.Vietnam Airlines ranks second with 94 aircraft, which include four Airbus A320s, 59 Airbus A321s, 14 Airbus A350s, and 17 Boeing 787s.In early September, Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for five A350-900 wide-body aircraft. It has been flying for only 10 months, and has ambitious plans to expand its fleet to 33 aircraft this year, 100 by 2030, and 200 by 2035. VASCO and Green Planet Airways each have six planes, Vietravel Airlines, Hai Au Aviation, and Bluesky Airways have five each, and Pacific Airlines has three. Sun Air and Viet Flight Training have two aircraft each and Tre Viet Aviation and Vietstar Airlines each have one.
