They claimed that the pending results were affecting their eligibility for subsequent examinations, internships, higher education and other academic processes. The students have demanded that the university administration hold direct talks with them and provide a clear and concrete assurance on when the pending results will be declared. Police and administrative officials at the spot were seen trying to convince the students to climb down from the water tank. However, the protesters remained firm on their demands and said they would not come down until the university took a clear decision on their grievances and gave them a concrete assurance regarding the results. The protest is not the first such demonstration by BAMS students over the issue. In July, students had staged a similar protest at the university over pending examination results and other issues related to examinations. Several students had climbed the campus water tank during that agitation as well. The earlier protest had also led to a tense situation on the campus, with reports of heated exchanges and pushing and shoving between police personnel and protesting students.Monday's escalation has once again put the spotlight on the students' long-standing demand for the release of their examination results. The students have maintained that the delay is having a cascading impact on their academic progression and have sought immediate action from the university administration. As police and administrative officials continued negotiations with the students on Monday, efforts were focused on bringing them down safely while addressing their demand for a firm timeline on the pending results.- EndsPublished By: Priyanka KumariPublished On: Aug 24, 2026 21:56 IST
