Pawan then had dinner with the family and went to sleep on a cot.SUDDEN SWORD ATTACK AT 2 AMAround 2 am, Pawan woke up and launched a sudden attack on Raju's three sleeping sons with a sword.The victims were identified as 20-year-old Gore, 23-year-old Pradeep and 25-year-old Khatu, alias Rajkaran. All three sustained critical injuries in the attack.Hearing their screams, Raju's younger brother-in-law, 40-year-old Rajesh, and his 37-year-old wife, Buddha, rushed outside. Pawan allegedly attacked them too with a sharp-edged weapon.The assault triggered panic inside the house as the family members raised an alarm.VILLAGERS CATCH PAWAN, BEAT HIM TO DEATHHearing the commotion, nearby villagers reached the house and surrounded Pawan.According to the information provided by police, the family members and villagers then caught Pawan and beat him severely. He died from the injuries he sustained in the assault.Meanwhile, the five people injured in the attack were taken for medical treatment and later referred to Kanpur, where they are currently undergoing treatment.RAJU'S BODY RECOVERED FROM CANALThe case took another turn when police recovered Raju's body from the Muradipur canal.Police officer Priyank Jain said the body bore deep injury marks on the neck and hands. Police conducted an inquest and sent the body for post-mortem examination.The recovery of Raju's body came after Pawan had allegedly taken him away from the family on the pretext of showing a prospective bride for his son. Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding Raju's death and the subsequent attack on the family.The incident has left the village tense, with police deployed at the scene.MOTIVE REMAINS UNCLEARThe exact motive behind the killing of Raju and the subsequent attack on his family members remains unclear. Since Pawan also died after being beaten by family members and villagers, police will have to establish the reason behind the violence through other evidence.
