University professor who ‘murdered student & dismembered body’ seen on CCTV leaving flat with suitcase in women’s dress

The suspect allegedly tried to cover up the woman’s death by dressing up as her before dumping parts of the victim’s body in multiple places, cops say. A man in his 30s, named only as Jeong, has since been arrested on suspicion of her murder. Police allege parts of the victim’s body and traces of her DNA were found inside his flat. In a sickening twist, other parts of her remains were also found in the Gyeonggi Province 150 miles away. The Chinese national confessed to killing his student and showed police where he had abandoned her, according to investigators. The pair had reportedly met up on the night of her death on August 20. CCTV shows Jeong walking into his home before a woman who appears to be the student follows after him. Most read in The Sun Less than 24 hours later, at around 10.30pm, the suspect was seen leaving the flat wearing a women’s skirt, hat and mask. Cops claim the outfit was a calculated attempt to resemble his female student. The man was also wheeling a suitcase but police are yet to confirm why or what was inside. The following day Jeong contacted the police and claimed he was the woman’s boyfriend as he reported her missing. While cops scoured the city for the missing student, Jeong is spotted calmy carrying a black bin bag – carrying an object the size of two footballs – to a nearby garbage dump. The brutality of the crime has sparked calls for Jeong to undergo a psychopathy test – which he has refused. In his confession, he told police that he killed the woman in a fit of passion sparked by an argument. Detectives are investigating whether the two really did have a relationship. The horrifying case has rocked Chinese media – with several people demanding that Jeong be given the death penalty. State executions are sanctioned in China – the origin of both the suspect and his alleged victim – but not allowed in South Korea – where the murder took place. Comment now
