A replacement FlyDubai plane lands at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. Gil Cohen-Magen/dpa/ZUMA PressDUBAI—A senior United Arab Emirates political figure and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the near-downing of FlyDubai Flight 1073 as terrorism on Friday, a clear indication investigators view the incident as a political act.The comments from Anwar Gargash, senior foreign-policy adviser to the U.A.E. president, came a day after an Emirati security team escorted the jet’s wounded captain and the co-pilot who stabbed him back to the U.A.E. from Saudi Arabia, where the plane made an emergency landing after passengers intervened.Copyright ©2026 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.
