Fury, who looked every bit his 38 years as he laboured to a seventh-round stoppage victory over 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in Thailand last month, firmly believes he can beat the young guns in the division. But brother Shane has serious reservations about him sharing the ring with the undefeated Itauma, who will look to become Britain’s youngest-ever heavyweight champion against Filip Hrgovic. During an appearance on the Fight Your Corner podcast, he said: “I put Tyson there [higher] and I put the rest of the top heavyweights here [lower]. “When Tyson was at his best, these champions were around today; he would have made those fights, and I would have been so comfortable. “But for me now, if Tyson made those fights, I would go into training camp, and I would be fully confident that Tyson’s going to do it, but not as confident as I was. “Before, it would have been a demolition job, a sparring match. Play with them, Tyson. “Get him out there. But now they’re close fights, and they’re no walk in the park. In an interview with talkSPORT, he said of the spar: “Obviously I was in Tyson’s camp, he was very Marmite in sparring. “Some days he’d do well, but in some he’d be unbelievable. “It honestly depends on what version of Fury turn up. If the one sparring on good days turns up he will have a very easy night with Usyk. “As I say he’s very Marmite; he could have a bad day in sparring and I feel like the Francis Ngannou fight was a very bad day.” Comment now
