Two Pakistan stars probed by cyber crimes agency after seven players sent home in middle of England Test series

TWO Pakistan players have been quizzed by the country’s National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency after being sent home from England. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan and opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq are also believed to have their financial records probed. Other players still in England might have their phones seized when they return from the tour. This investigation is separate from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s inquiry into how the tour went so badly wrong. The PCB say they are probing “behaviour and culture” and believe there have been dressing-room leaks. The head of the NCCIA is Mohsin Naqvi, who also happens to be chairman of the PCB and minister of the interior in the Pakistan government. Naqvi was behind the decision to send home seven members of the squad. They include factors beyond performance and we will get to the bottom of it.” Rizwan had suffered poor form on this tour and was dismissed for one in the second innings at Lord’s. Imam sustained a grade-1 tear in his left calf after the first day and didn’t play in either of Pakistan’s innings. There is a history of political interference in Pakistan cricket. Former captain Misbah-ul-Haq resigned as a selector when the seven players were sent home, saying he was not consulted about the decision. Comment now
