See more Daily Mail on Google - save us as a Preferred Source Published: 06:26 EDT, 15 September 2026 | Updated: 06:34 EDT, 15 September 2026 Two people have been killed and four seriously injured after a car hit a group of pedestrians before striking multiple vehicles in a head-on crash while on the wrong side of the road.Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11am on Sunday on White Rose Way, Doncaster, to reports of a multi-vehicle crash. Officers established that a black Mitsubishi L200 was travelling down the carriageway when it struck the group of four pedestrians.It then collided with a black Audi and a silver BMW on the other side of the road, police said.Paramedics and the air ambulance were scrambled to the road, but two of the pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.Police are still working to identify them and inform their next of kin. Four other people were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving while unfit. He has since been bailed.South Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation and is asking for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.The force can be contacted on 101 or online, quoting incident number 345 of 13 September 2026.This is a breaking news story and is being updated.
