Two Indian nationals missing after drone attack on tanker off Oman's coast

A drone attack on a vessel off the coast of Oman left two Indian nations missing, a senior Indian official said on Sunday. Meanwhile, nine others were rescued, as search and rescue operations by the local coast guard begin. "On Oct 11, tanker MT PETRO DOLPHIN, carrying 11 Indian seafarers, was subjected to a drone attack at Sohar Anchorage," Indian Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said in a post on X. "While nine of our Indian crew members have been successfully rescued and are safe, two Indian nationals currently remain missing." Sonowal added that India is "continuously coordinating with all relevant authorities to fully support the ongoing rescue efforts and ensure every possible action is taken to safely locate our missing personnel". Since the war on Iran began in late February, at least 16 Indian seafarers have been killed.
