Twisted Teens – “Stalks”

Thus far this year, New Orleans' Twisted Teens have already released two albums of awesomely swampy lo-fi garage-punk, Blame The Clown and Florida Water Blues. A third is on deck. Twisted Teens have made the leap to Sub Pop Records, and their new LP The Holy Cross Tigers drops next month. We already posted lead single "When We First Met," and their new song "Stalks" hits the internet today. Like so many of the songs Twisted Teens have given us this year, "Stalks" is a weirdly catchy mess, a murky surf-pop confection contructed from rickety drum machines, sha-la-la guitar riffs, hard-drawling baritone vocals, sideways organ swirls, and a slide guitar that will never stop going in. It's got a video, directed by someone named Mama Hot Dog, that looks like a public-access dance-party show that takes place in a charming junkyard universe. It's fun as fuck. Check it out below. The Holy Cross Tigers is out 11/6 on Sub Pop. Also, Twisted Teens just got the Jeff Tweedy cover treatment, and they'll hit the road with Kurt Vile this fall.
