Trump says the only AI regulation needed is a ‘High IQ’ president

President Donald Trump downplayed the importance of more artificial intelligence regulations as some major AI company CEOs call for an internationally coordinated development slowdown.“The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday. “The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’ – and we will continue to do so!” Recommended Stories Trump added that the U.S. already has “tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies” in response to the calls from the likes of Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, who last week brought his concerns to the fore in an open letter.
