Trump on election night says he’s turned off Fox News because he can’t stand female host’s voice

As millions of Americans headed to the polls on Election Day, President Donald Trump announced he was switching off Fox News because he could not bear to hear a female host’s voice. In a Truth Social post shortly before the first polls closed Tuesday, Trump lashed out at Jessica Tarlov, a liberal commentator and co-host of The Five.“Watching the Pre-Election Results on FoxNews, but I can't stand Jessica Tarlov's voice — DUMB AS A ROCK, but it's the voice that gets me,” the 80-year-old president wrote. “Have to go somewhere else until that LOSER is off the air — I'll be back later!”A frequent Trump critic, Tarlov has slammed the president’s handling of the cost of living, accused him of corruption and questioned his cognitive health. Trump, for his part, has repeatedly singled her out, once calling her “one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television.”Last month, Tarlov responded to the president’s frequent attacks, asking: “Why is this man not busier? There are better things to do.”On Election Day, President Donald Trump announced he is switching off Fox News because he can’t stand a host’ voice (AFP via Getty Images)Later on Tuesday evening, the president followed up with another Truth Social post attacking Fox News, this time targeting the network’s polling.“The FoxNews Poll, always the worst, is so insulting with the questions they ask,” the president wrote. “Every question is a hit job, and every answer is ‘BULL****!’ This has been going on for years.”Trump’s approval rating fell to a record-low 36 percent in a Fox poll this month, as the network projected for the first time that Democrats were likely to win control of the House.Last month, Tarlov responded to the president’s frequent attacks, asking: ‘Why is this man not busier? It could be hours — or potentially days — before it is known which party will gain control of Congress for the last two years of Trump’s second term.A White House official told The Independent that the mood inside the administration is “cautiously optimistic.”“The President has left it all out on the field and he’s done everything that was needed,” the official said. “Republicans are in a better spot now than they were four weeks ago.”
