Trump lashes out at reporter who grilled him on nuclear strikes on Iran: ‘Stupid question’

The reporter asked Trump whether he ruled out the use of nuclear weapons in the Iran war, which just hit its six-month mark. Her question came after conservative podcaster Tucker Carlson and former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) claimed that the administration was looking into using nuclear options against Iran. Trump said he will not use nuclear weapons against Iran before tearing into the reporter. He said there is “no reason” to use a nuclear weapon against Iran because the U.S. has already destroyed Iran’s military.“What a stupid question that is, actually,” Trump told the reporter. “Here they are. They’re totally defeated militarily. So now I defeat them, and now I should use a nuclear weapon on top of them? What a stupid question.”Trump has repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military has been completely destroyed despite the war dragging on for more than six months. While he claimed that the military has been destroyed, Iran launched attacks against U.S. military sites over the weekend. U.S. forces struck Iranian rocket launchers on the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, marking the first U.S. military action in a month. Iran responded by saying it launched missiles at U.S. sites in Jordan. The Iran war has been a sore point for Trump’s second term, with some of his most loyal supporters turning on him over the military conflict.
