Trump focuses on Nicki Minaj’s ‘beautiful’ rear, AOC and owning Greenland in marathon rally speech

President Donald Trump spent nearly two hours Sunday afternoon talking about rapper Nicki Minaj’s “beautiful” rear, his indifference to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and owning Greenland. Trump stopped in Port Huron, Michigan, to campaign for Senate candidate Mike Rogers and other Republicans in November’s midterm elections during his month-long rally blitz. He spent the beginning of his speech attacking Roger’s Democratic opponent, Abdul El-Sayed, calling him a “Jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member” and demanding he go through metal detectors at the U.S. Capitol building if her were to get elected. El-Sayed, who is muslim, has vehemently denied any ties to the Islamist organization. But in typical Trump fashion, the president went off-script, making for some bizarre moments. Here are the highlights: President Donald Trump spent nearly two hours of his Sunday afternoon talking about rapper Nicki Minaj’s “beautiful” rear - not his first time commenting on someone else’s body (Getty Images)Nicki Minaj’s “beautiful” rearTrump made headlines last week for oddly gushing over Republican Senator Jon Husted’s butt at a rally in Ohio. Instead of letting the story die down, Trump brings it up whenever he can. At Sunday’s rally, Trump defended himself, saying, “I had just found out he’s a great athlete. A brutal tackler…I’m looking at him up and down and I’m studying him and then I made the mistake — I told, in fun, I said, ‘I looked at his ass,’ and I’ve never done that with a man before, it’s true.” Then he quipped, “Off the record — women, yes, men, no, okay? By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before – Nicki Minaj.”The president pointed at Minaj, a vocal supporter who traveled with him to Michigan on Air Force One, and then said, “That’s hard to miss! Stand up! That’s hard to miss!”Minaji stood from her seat as the crowd cheered, and she gave them a thumbs-up.Trump stopped in Port Huron, Michigan, to campaign for Senate candidate Mike Rogers and other Republicans in November’s midterm elections during his month-long rally blitz (AFP via Getty Images)Trump’s indifference to AOCDespite Ocasio-Cortez constantly bashing the Trump administration, Trump suggested he was indifferent to the New York Democrat. “Somehow, I don’t mind AOC that much. I don’t know why,” the president said. “She doesn’t bug me too much.”The same could not be said for another member of the progressive House group AOC is part of, called “The Squad.” The president continued his attacks against Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota Sunday, calling her a “little troublemaker.”“She comes from Somalia — probably, maybe the worst country in the world,” Trump said. Trump also admitted during his speech that Americans are 'taking a hit' with high gas prices brought on by his war in Iran (Getty Images)Trump’s claim of ownership over GreenlandTrump claimed during his speech that the U.S. owns Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark in the Arctic. “We own Greenland — we work it with Denmark. We signed a very good agreement with great lawyers,” the president said. “Infinite period of time. No limits. No nothing.”Last month, Trump announced an agreement with Greenland that would “give the U.S. permanent access to the island and permission to build military bases there without Danish approval.”The deal must still be passed by the Danish parliament to be ratified. America’s ‘taking a hit’Trump admitted that Americans are “taking a hit” with high gas prices brought on by his war in Iran. “Short term, you’re taking a hit. It's not a big hit. I thought gasoline would go up much more,” the president said. “The nastiest, the meanest, the No. 1 state sponsor of terror is Iran, by far. And you had to make sure they didn’t have a nuclear weapon.”Trump took time to complain about not winning a Nobel Peace Prize, as well, telling his supporters, ‘So, I’m not in love with Norway. Frankly, Norway sucks’ (Getty Images)“Honestly, I thought they were gonna go up much more,” Trump said. The national average cost for a gallon of gas was nearly $4.30 on Sunday, according to the motor club AAA. A year ago, the average cost was just above $3 per gallon. Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize, or lack thereofTrump also took time to complain about not winning a Nobel Peace Prize, while he’s in an active war with Iran.He said this year’s winner, Navi Pillay, a South African-born jurist and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, was “a woman that nobody ever heard of.”“So, I’m not in love with Norway. Frankly, Norway sucks,” Trump said in a rebuke to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, which picks the winner. “Norway has become a shithouse country, actually.”
