Trent Alexander-Arnold issues verdict on England return: 'I always believed'

I said if I’m getting into those half-spaces, I’m looking to get it in the box. I didn’t expect it to happen that quickly.”Gordon said afterwards that there are not many players in the world who could produce the quality of cross Alexander-Arnold did for Gordon’s goal.By way of a response, the Real Madrid man told ITV: “That is a great compliment. He’s a willing runner. It’s great to play with him. I was able to execute the pass.”Alexander-Arnold said being back in an England shirt was “amazing”, and added: “It is always an honour and a pleasure to represent my country. It’s been a long time, but I’ve always believed that I can play for England. That belief has always been there, and it’s just about proving it at club level.“The manager has given me that chance tonight to go out there and play, and I tried to follow what he asked of me to the best of my ability.”
