Trapped for hours, adventurous burglar falls through apartment roof: Broadview Heights Police Blotter

By John Benson, special to cleveland.comBROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio Trespassing, Seneca Boulevard: On July 2, police were dispatched to a Seneca Boulevard apartment regarding a male who fell through the resident’s ceiling. An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said she heard a loud banging that grew louder coming from the ceiling. Next, a man fell through the ceiling, landing in a hallway. The unknown male threw his hands up and said he had been stuck for five hours. Freaked out, the resident told him to leave. Upon inspection of the area, police discovered the suspect stood on a box before entering an access panel in the hallway.He then broke through a fire wall hoping to enter the resident’s apartment. Police found a box cutter and the suspect’s wallet. Police are investigating. Fraud, Town Center Drive: On July 2, a childcare facility owner called police after discovering she was the victim of fraud. An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said one fraudulent check cleared two different times at two different banks for more than $2,600. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
