A YEAR on from Charlotte Chilton’s paternity row hell she says her daughter “finally has a father figure” after two DNA tests ruled out Conor Maynard was the dad. “Shell-shocked” Charlotte was left in disbelief by the jaw-dropping result following her court battle with the YouTuber – but today tells The Sun she is celebrating becoming a family with her new boyfriend who’s taken her two-year-old daughter Penelope under his wing. Charlotte, who has never publicly confirmed who else she was dating at the time, even now still maintains Conor is the dad, while he has always been adamant he is not. However, the 35-year-old has moved on from the drama with businessman Chris and says “I’m so loved up I could pop”. The pair, who are currently on their first family holiday, are moving in together next week. Charlotte told The Sun: “After everything I’ve been through, I started to doubt I would ever find my happily ever. “Not only have I found that, but Penny has found a father figure. “He has has such a strong bond with her. They have a really special relationship and it makes my heart fill with joy. “Penny is so ahead at nursery because of all the time he takes to teach her at home. “He’s been a shining light in both of our lives. “I feel like a teenager besotted with their first love. The 42-year-old, who is a father himself, recently asked Charlotte and Penny to move in with him. After getting back from a dream trip later this month, Charlotte and Penny will move into a property with Chris that he has just bought. “He surprised me with a personalised key ring with our initials on,” said Charlotte. “It just felt right. We already all feel like a family and now we can be.” Charlotte could never have dreamed this would have been how her life would turn out just 12 months ago. The star was left feeling suicidal after sickening abuse online when two DNA tests to determine the parentage of her little girl proved Conor wasn’t the father. Charlotte had spent months fighting for a court-ordered paternity test five months after evidence ruled him out from having fathered baby Penelope. When the results were shared via email in August 2025, Charlotte was left devastated. “It’s not something I want to talk about again, especially not now when there are so many positive things happening in my life,” she said. “I’m so proud of Penny and the little girl she has become. “She may not look like me but she is a mini me in personality. “She loves her arts, music and dancing just like her mummy and me and Chris are focusing on giving Penny a bright future as a family.” A spokesman for Conor said after the test results: “As Charlotte requested, Penelope’s, Charlotte’s and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice accredited DNA. “The results are therefore conclusive. “This has been difficult for me and my family, and I’m so grateful for everyone’s support. I’m glad we can now finally draw a line under this.” He concluded: “I sincerely hope these results mean we can all find a way to move on with our lives.” The couple have been loved up since earlier this year Credit: Instagram/Charlchilts Chris has taken on Penny as a step-daughter Credit: Instagram/Charlchilts
