The family of the victim, Manish Soni, has demanded Rs 1 crore in compensation and strict action against the accused.According to the police, the incident took place at around 10 am on Monday when the victim, Manish Soni, who worked as a tourist guide in the area, was stopping vehicles heading towards the fort when he got into an argument with driver Azam.As the dispute escalated, Azam and his associate Nazish attacked Soni with a knife.He suffered serious injuries to his abdomen and chest and collapsed at the spot, bleeding profusely. He was rushed to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in critical condition and despite efforts by doctors to revive him, he died on Tuesday due to his severe injuries and excessive blood loss.Meanwhile, police have detained Azam and Nazish following the incident. Both are being interrogated. Police are also trying to recover the knife allegedly used in the attack.According to the police, Azam already has two criminal cases registered against him. He had also allegedly filmed his own arrest in the past.Manish's family has also claimed that he had clashed with Azam about a week before the fatal attack and that a police complaint had been filed, but no action was taken.Following Manish’s death, his family and local residents have put forward demands, including Rs 1 crore compensation for the family, a government job for a relative and strict action against the accused.The protesters have also demanded **bulldozer action against the accused’s property, a fast-track court hearing and, in one of the demands, an encounter of the accused.They have further demanded a complete ban on illegal and unauthorised jeep operations in and around Amer Fort and action against the SHO and investigating officer over inaction despite the earlier complaint.News of the tourist guide’s death sparked anger across Amer.
