Tottenham and Man Utd fans blast Carabao Cup draw as ‘rigged’ with two brutal ties while Man City get ‘easy’ opponents

TOTTENHAM and Manchester United fans have slammed the Carabao Cup draw as “rigged”. The two Premier League sides were handed tricky ties for the third round of the competition. United also have a tough fixture as they welcome fellow Prem outfit Brighton to Old Trafford. The Red Devils were dumped out of the FA Cup by the Seagulls last term despite beating them home and away in the league. Fans of the clubs were left fuming and claimed the draw was rigged especially after seeing Man City draw Norwich at the Etihad. They let out their frustrations on social media. And we’ve had five in the past two seasons.” A second commented: “How have we been drawn with Brighton proper rigged, whilst City gets Norwich.” A third wrote: “Arsenal and Man City yet again draw the easiest teams. It’s rigged for pair of them just like last season.” A fourth said: “SO RIGGED.” A fifth sarcastically joked: “Brilliant lads! Not rigged at all.” Another added: “City always getting easy fixtures.” Fans had already claimed that the draw was rigged before it was even done. This was because of Uefa fixtures being fixed and unable to be rescheduled. This means that any teams in those European competitions would not be able to face each other in the Cup. Brighton are the exception as they are competing in the Conference League – and were therefore the toughest fixture on paper for United. Other notable ties in the third round include Newcastle travelling south to take on Millwall at The Den. Coventry will host Midlands rivals Aston Villa. 1 comment1
