Tottenham AGREE Omar Marmoush loan transfer with £50million option to buy after striking deal with Man City

TOTTENHAM have agreed to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan, reports say – and he could join permanently next season. The winger was an unused sub for Enzo Maresca on opening day as his side came from behind to beat Bournemouth. Marmoush will be bought by Spurs if certain, so far unknown, clauses are met. Roberto De Zerbi’s men have continued their remarkable summer spending spree with £85million on the Brazilian. Egypt international Marmoush has fallen out of favour at the Etihad after making an initial splash. He joined from Frankfurt in January 2025 but was a bit-part player under Pep Guardiola last season. Versatile forward Marmoush only started eight league games and scored just three goals. Marmoush is the latest in a long line of additions for Tottenham after Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Matheus Fernandes started the reshuffle. City boss Maresca, who got a nervy 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon thanks to late goals from Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol, admitted Marmoush was one of several who had no intention of staying past the transfer deadline. He said earlier this window: “It’s quite clear that when players want to leave, for any reason, it’s complicated to convince them to stay, to change themselves. “It happened with Rodri, the same thing is happening with Savinho. “Since day one, he is asking me to leave, so now we are waiting. “It’s complicated when the players are thinking they want a new challenge or want to change. “They want to go back to Spain or to play more minutes. It’s complicated for them to stay.” Maresca added: “Apart from Rodri, they all have one thing in common, that they didn’t play a lot. “They all work every day because they want to play and when they don’t play, probably they prefer to leave. “The ones you mention, apart from Rodri, the rest are all players for different reasons that didn’t play a lot.” The Italian finished: “Savinho asked since day one to leave and Omar didn’t ask to leave since day one.” Marmoush will be trying to help De Zerbi and Co bounce back after a humbling 3-0 defeat at Brentford.
