Timothy Olyphant's R-rated horror movie is on quite the streaming run, and it refuses to back down, passing another milestone. October is the month of Halloween, and with it, classic horror movies, underrated entries, and new releases tend to start trending on streaming services. Olyphant's list of movies and TV shows includes a few releases from the genre. For instance, on Netflix, the actor played one of the main roles in the horror comedy series Santa Clarita Diet. The Netflix Original series debuted in 2017 and ran for three seasons, ending in 2019. Olyphant co-starred in it with Drew Barrymore. That is far from the only horror project the actor has tackled over the years. Olyphant played a role in one of the biggest horror movie franchises of all time, as the star gave life to Mickey Altieri in Scream 2. More recently, Olyphant was one of the main players in another of cinema's biggest franchises, Alien, though on streaming, as he starred in the sci-fi horror series Alien: Earth on FX and FX on Hulu. Now, Olyphant is experiencing streaming success through another of his horror projects, the 2010 movie The Crazies, which has just hit another milestone on a hot streaming run. Olyphant's The Crazies Continues To Thrill Streaming As part of a Halloween boom on the streaming service, Olyphant's The Crazies has just crossed the milestone of 14 days on Lionsgate+'s Top 10 chart in Canada, according to data from FlixPatrol. The Crazies currently stands as the 6th most-watched movie or TV show on the Lionsgate+ chart in Canada. The R-rated horror movie was originally released in theaters on February 26, 2010, and it is a remake of the 1973 movie of the same name, which was directed by genre master George A. Romero. The 2010 version of the film finished with $54.8 million around the world. Based on The Crazies' reported budget of $20 million, the R-rated horror movie needed to finish its box office run between $40 million and $50 million to break even, and so it did more than that. The Crazies holds a decent 72% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 156 reviews. Right now, Olyphant's horror classic stands higher than bigger movies on the Lionsgate+ chart in Canada, leaving behind films like The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and, funny enough, another Olyphant horror movie, Scream 2. Sam Worthington's 2017 action thriller, Manhunt, leads the list. What Does Olyphant Have Coming Up? Olyphant will be keen to keep that successful streaming streak going with his next release, which is likely to be one of the biggest movies of 2026. That would be Brad Pitt's The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the sequel to Quentin Tarantino's iconic Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The new movie is penned by Tarantino, but directed by long-time Pitt collaborator David Fincher. Olyphant will reprise his role of James Stacy from the first film. The actor is also set to return as the synthetic Kirsh in Alien: Earth season 2. Until then, Olyphant has The Crazies high on streaming.
