Three dead after helicopter crashes shortly following take-off on Greece holiday island as emergency crews rush to scene

AT least three people have been killed in a horror helicopter crash in Greece – as emergency services rush to the scene. The chopper went down on the holiday hotspot island of Sifnos shortly after taking off – leaving the pilot and two passengers dead. The pilot and two passengers were killed in the crash The small private helicopter is said to have exploded and gone up in a huge fireball on impact. It is currently unclear what caused the helicopter to crash. Images shown in local reports showed what appeared to be the crash site on an arid hillside. Plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from a raging fire near shrubs and bushes. The chopper, reportedly a Bell 206 helicopter, had just taken off from the island’s helipad in the Tholos area. It came down and went up in a vicious fireball in an inhabited area but no homes were hit.
