And right in time for Halloween, Netflix is bringing some new titles that will fit right into your watch list, whether you're looking for a horror-comedy, psychological thriller, or a good old creature feature. Here are four new shows to keep an eye out for. Below What's lurking under this small town? Below is a six-part limited series with a creature feature premise and a small-town mystery at its center. The Canadian supernatural thriller weaves an atmosphere of unease inspired by the real experiences of people living on rugged coastlines and enduring harsh weather and conditions. Set in the small Newfoundland town of Snooks Arm, the story follows fisherman Calvin Penney as he tries to keep his family and community together when a mysterious sea creature starts terrorizing the area. He teams up with a marine researcher to find out what’s happening, and old town secrets begin to surface. The supernatural show arrived on Netflix on October 8, so add it to your watch list if you are looking for something eerie to start with. Below is currently streaming globally on Netflix. There's nothing K-dramas love more than weaving a horror/dystopian/survival story out of a real social issue (like the uber-famous Squid Game), and this new K-drama, falling under the same bracket, might join the ranks of my favorite thrillers soon. Dead-End Job follows Hyuk-jun, a desperate young man who is drowning in debt, when he finds a part-time job offering more, far more (think 50 times the minimum wage), than the usual pay. The catch? He cannot tell anyone what his job actually is. And slowly, it becomes clear that the work is a nightmare filled with strange and terrifying events that are kept a mystery until you start the show. Meanwhile, Hyuk-jun and his sister, along with an investigator, try to find the truth behind the agency that recruited him. The Korean horror series is set to arrive just before Halloween, so keep an eye out for it as your homepage floods with spooky titles. Dead-End Job begins streaming globally on Netflix on October 30. Haunted Hotel: Season 2 The monster might actually be under the bed Running a hotel is hard enough without having to deal with ghosts. Haunted Hotel follows single mother Katherine, who is trying to keep the Undervale Hotel running. Her brother Nathan helps out, though he’s now a ghost, and the hotel is full of spirits with their own opinions about how things should be done. Season 2 brings the hotel back for more ghostly problems, odd guests, and the family trying to manage the chaos. It’s an adult-animated comedy, so go in expecting something playful rather than straight-up jump scares. Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, and Skyler Gisondo are among the voice cast. If you want a Halloween watch that’s spooky but kind of light, Haunted Hotel should fit the bill. Haunted Hotel: Season 2 is currently streaming globally on Netflix. The Trap is more of a psychological thriller than your traditional supernatural horror, but if you're ready to switch it up with some suspense and mind games, it's a nice addition to your October watch list. It follows author Lisa Konrad (Friederike Becht), who has spent nearly ten years inside her home after witnessing her sister Anna’s murder. Then she sees a man on television whom she believes is the killer. Instead of continuing to hide, Lisa makes a plan to draw him out and puts herself in his path as bait. Based on Melanie Raabe’s novel, this six-part German series follows Lisa’s attempt to control a situation she has spent years fearing. But as the plan turns into a dangerous game between hunter and hunted, it becomes harder to know who has the upper hand, or what little detail Lisa may have missed. The Trap begins streaming on Netflix on October 13. Discover the spooky side This Halloween, you can fill up your Netflix watch list with a variety of spooky movies and shows.
