But rest assured that Readme is the real deal because it was founded by the team responsible for Co-Star, the favorite astrology app for anyone obsessed with their birth chart.Banu Guler, the founder of Co-Star, shared the news about Readme on X this week.The concept of Readme is simple: it’s all about connecting “people who read (or want to date someone who reads).” It connects users to matches with similar tastes in books, and makes for a natural starting point to connect over shared interests and values.“We're excited, because clearly someone's taste in books tells you a lot more about their true spirit than an awkwardly workshopped line on a conventional dating app profile,” read head of brand Emily Segal’s statement in the X post Banu shared.Readme felt like a natural next step after Co-Star, which has helped people understand their compatibility with others for years now.“People are obsessed with figuring out compatibility with Co-Star,” continued Emily’s statement, “and have wanted Co-Star to build a dating app forever, but it took a while to figure out how to do it in a way that felt truly authentic, since astrology is only one piece of the puzzle."It’s still TBD on if and/or how astrology will play a role in Readme, but in the meantime, users can download the app to find their own happily ever after.
