‘The Simpsons’ Bart actor Nancy Cartwright predicts when the show will end

The Simpsons star Nancy Cartwright has given her thoughts on when she thinks the show will end. The actress who has voiced Bart Simpson alongside various other roles on the animated comedy since its inception, was asked when the animated show will finally finish on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside Of You podcast Cartwright responded: “40 [seasons].” “You think it’ll stop at 40?” Rosenbaum asked. “Yeah,” Cartwright confirmed. “You’re sure?” he asked again. “It’s my opinion,” she said. The Simpsons recently wrapped its 37th season and will soon return for its 38th next month. The show has a contract for up to 40 seasons with the final series due to air in 2029. Despite that, Cartwright said that she isn’t looking to retire from the show and if it did continue beyond 40 seasons, she confirmed she’d be onboard. Recommended “Would you go as long as they wanted to keep going?” Rosenbaum asked. Cartwright then responded: “Absolutely”. The Simpsons was renewed as part of a four-season renewal last year. Earlier this year, Cartwright reassured fans that she won’t be replaced by AI when she retires. “I think I would choose a successor [instead of AI], and I’ll tell you why – because AI has no heart and I think that’s a missing ingredient,” she said at the time. “[AI] might sound pretty close to Nancy Cartwright, but I got passion. We’re spiritual beings, we can emote passion and uplift people and stuff. And I don’t know that a computer can do something like that.” Elsewhere, a sequel to The Simpsons Movie is set to land in 2027. Fans recently spotted another prediction about the forthcoming sequel. The first film was released in 2007 and following its release, an episode in season 19 (He Loves To Fly And He D’ohs) opened with Bart’s usual chalkboard gag, which saw him writing over and over on the board: “I will not wait 20 years to make another movie.”. It seems that creator Matt Groening fulfilled Bart’s prophecy as the forthcoming sequel, is set to be released on July 23, 2027, 20 years and two days after the first film received its world premiere in Springfield, Vermont, on July 21, 2007.
