The mattress topper behind Grace Beverley’s best night’s sleep is now behind mine too

Are mattress toppers worth the extra cash? I tried out the one Grace Beverley can’t stop raving about. Grace Beverley is one of them. The entrepreneur has influenced more purchases than I’d care to admit over the years. Supplements? Bought them. Wellness products? Probably. Activewear? Absolutely. So when she started talking about a mattress topper she’d tracked down after an incredible night’s sleep in a hotel, I was intrigued. Tielle Savoy Luxury Hotel Topper Inspired by the famously plush beds at The Savoy, this luxury mattress topper from Tielle adds an extra layer of cloud-like comfort with a soft, hotel-quality finish designed to upgrade your sleep at home. Buy Now from £182 Mainly because I’ve been a terrible sleeper for as long as I can remember. The kind of sleeper who knows exactly what 2.43am, 3.17am and 4.56am look like. The kind of sleeper whose under-eye bags deserve their own postcode. The kind of sleeper who gets irrationally excited whenever someone says, ‘I slept for nine hours straight.’ So when Grace shared the secret behind a hotel bed so comfortable she actually messaged the hotel to find out where it was from, I was listening. Apparently, the answer wasn’t some £5,000 mattress. It wasn’t a fancy pillow. It wasn’t a sleep gadget or a lavender spray. It was a mattress topper. Specifically, the Tielle Savoy Luxury Hotel Topper. And naturally, within five minutes of finding this out, I had convinced myself I needed one. I didn’t. Instead, I FaceTimed my mum and Grandma, both fellow members of the Bad Sleepers Association, while dramatically making my bed and explaining why this topper was potentially about to change my life. The excitement was probably disproportionate. So fluffy I couldn’t wait to get in. (Picture: Metro/Sarah Bradbury) But anyone who struggles with sleep will understand. If someone tells you they’ve found the secret to feeling like you’re sleeping in a five-star hotel every night, you’re going to get invested. The topper itself is made with a 70% feather and 30% down fill and wrapped in a crisp 100% cotton case, with elastic straps to keep it securely attached to your mattress. Lovely. But the real test was getting into bed. Which I did immediately – not at bedtime, I should add. At approximately 7.41pm. Make-up off. LED mask done. Skincare applied. Straight into bed. Reader, Grace was right The second I lay down, I got it. You know that feeling when you stay in a really good hotel and momentarily consider never going home because the bed is just that comfortable? That’s what this topper feels like. Trust me when I say, you need a good mattress topper in your life. (Picture: Metro/Tielle) It’s soft without being unsupportive. Plush without making you feel like you’re sinking into quicksand. Comfortable in a way that makes your entire body unclench. I genuinely felt like I’d upgraded my mattress overnight. And while I appreciate that describing bedding as life-changing sounds ridiculous, I’m standing by it. Why it’s become my favourite home purchase What I love most is that it doesn’t just make the bed softer. It somehow recreates that expensive hotel-bed feeling that so many of us spend years chasing. Since adding it to my bed, nights feel cosier, getting into bed feels more exciting and I’ve found myself looking forward to sleep in a way I didn’t before. You can’t reallllly put a price on sleep, can you? (Picture: Metro/Sarah Bradbury) Which, considering sleep and I have spent most of our lives in a complicated relationship, is saying something. I also finally understand the story Grace shared about guests ending up in her bed at house parties. At first, I assumed that was an exaggeration. Now? Not so much. Is it worth the money? I’ll be honest. £182 is a lot for a mattress topper. But if you’re someone who values sleep, or spends every hotel stay wondering why your bed at home can’t feel the same, I genuinely think it’s worth considering. After all, we spend roughly a third of our lives in bed. I’d happily justify investing in something that makes those hours more comfortable. In fact, my biggest concern now is what happens when I sleep somewhere else. Because once you’ve experienced hotel-bed levels of comfort every night, it’s hard to go back. Mum, if you’re reading this, I’d quite like another one for Christmas. Just saying. And for those that are looking for a good, but slightly cheaper version?
