The Dark Destroyer was getting into a taxi at St Pancras International station after travelling from Paris when his luggage was swiped last month.Mr Wallace had been in the French capital to film an advertisement. He had packed his three pieces of luggage into the back of the cab when a man came up to him and told him he'd 'dropped a card at the back'.The 66-year-old got out to retrieve his card but then another person stole his bag from inside the vehicle.Speaking to a New Zealand radio show, Mr Wallace said: 'It had my favourite blue suede shoes, like Elvis, my Gucci perfume and I also had my two car keys in there because I couldn't find my original car keys.' However, the ITV teatime star claimed that the thieves did not recognise him, adding that crime in London is 'out of control'. 'They are watching... they are looking for luggage and when the opportune moment comes, they are taking it.' In a bid to stop the crime, private chauffeurs are being trained to keep their wealthy passengers safe when dropping off outside King's Cross and St Pancras. One chauffeur said thieves wait for tourists to get in the back of the car before opening the boot and snatching the luggage from the boot in a matter of seconds.Others described how thieves pounce while clients are tipping their driver and leave their luggage momentarily.Chauffeur Adnan said: 'King's Cross is part of the training where they say you have to be extra careful because people are taking luggage from the vehicles.'Once the [passenger] gets in the car, you have to be careful. That is part of the training. They could be TV stars, movie stars, wealthy people, high net worth individuals.'The Mail's investigation also exposed 'jurisdiction' confusion between the Met Police and British Transport Police, which has led to victims being caught up in bureaucratic red tape.READ MORE: On patrol with the St Pancras police: ARTHUR PARASHAR joins the officers cracking down on luxury luggage thieves and drug dealers plaguing King's Cross
