'The Brits have lost it': US ambassador to Israel reacts to Miliband's Gaza remarks

US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, has reacted sharply to British foreign secretary Ed Miliband's description of Gaza situation, saying "the Brits have lost it". "The Jew hate of their government knows no boundaries and knows no facts," Huckabee wrote on X, a day after Miliband, who is Jewish, said in an Instagram video that he had met with people who had been in Gaza and had been briefed on the “horrific” situation unfolding there. “You know the stories that people were telling me of medicines being blocked, children dying while waiting for vital life-saving treatment," he said. "When you hear that account of what is happening, you know that we as a UK government, as the prime minister has said, have got to act and act more decisively than we have,” Miliband added. On Tuesday, Miliband told British MPs that his government plans to impose a "comprehensive" package of sanctions in the coming weeks over Israeli plans to expand illegal West Bank settlements.
