The most depraved Garth Ennis comic is finally getting an adaptation Image: Six Studios Sign in to your Polygon.com account If you thought The Boys creator Garth Ennis was done getting his hands dirty with blood and violence, think again. Ennis and director Rob Jabbaz (The Sadness) have teamed up to bring one of the most wicked comic tales ever, Crossed, to the silver screen. A new teaser trailer, exclusively revealed by Bloody Disgusting, is now available on YouTube. As comic fans, we know some comics are unlikely to get an adaptation, either because the format suits comic books best or because of heavy subject matter. That's why it's easy to be surprised when something as depraved as Crossed gets an adaptation. What is Crossed about? Image: Six Studios Produced by Los Angeles company Six Studios, Crossed follows a group of strangers as they head north to escape the infected known only as the Crossed. However, instead of being lumbering, zombie-like figures, the Crossed are affected by a mysterious disease that causes a red cross to appear on their foreheads and encourages their worst impulses. Think of it almost as an intrusive thought — only this time, it's impossible to ignore. Rape, murder, and other atrocities, the Crossed follow that impulse to sate their pleasure and move on to the next urge. Ennis (who wrote the screenplay based on the original 10-issue run of Crossed) and Jabbaz are joined by a star-studded cast, including Devin Druid (13 Reasons Why) and Ash Santos (American Horror Story) as Stan and Cindy, who lead this ragtag group of survivors. Also part of the cast are Bob Morley (The 100) as Randall, Steven Hack (Little Death) as Geoff, Ethan Jones Romero (Law & Order) as Thomas, Chido Nwokocha (Top Gun: Maverick) as Kitrick, Spenser Granese (Dope Thief) as Brett, Kyla Hee (Psychosis) as Kelly, and Ana Mulvoy Ten (American Crime) as Sheena. Lorenzo Ross, in his first acting role, will star as Patrick. Image: Six Studios On their journey for survival, the group will encounter the leader of the infected: a debauched, perverted villain known as Horsecock, played by Owen Harn (Cobra Kai). Despite what the name suggests, the reason he's called that is far worse than you can imagine. As of now, no release date has been confirmed beyond "coming soon." For anyone seeking more bloody fun from the creator of The Boys, Crossed — and the brutal spectacle it promises — can't come soon enough.
