The Blood of Dawnwalker is a little different. Since the game was developed by former The Witcher 3 devs, it was a race against the clock to see who could send Geralt hurtling through a portal into the Carpathian Mountains instead of plucking CJ from Grove Street. Impressively, it took Nexus modder LittleOni0n just one day with the aptly titled ‘Geralt Face Swap for Coen,’ which does exactly what it says on the tin: turn Coen into the Butcher of Blaviken. “This mode replaces Coen’s head with a custom Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher 3) face, including a full skeletal mesh and material swap,” they explained. “The new face uses the same MetaHuman-based facial rig as the original, so all expressions, lip sync, and animation states - including Coen’s vampire transformation - continue to function correctly. Eye color has been changed to yellow and hair (scalp, beard, brows, lashes) recolored to white.” LittleOni0n Hasn't Played Much Of The Game: They Were Too Busy Adding Geralt Funnily enough, LittleOni0n hasn’t actually played much of the game yet, because they were too busy cobbling together this mod so that they could be the first to transport Geralt into Vale Sangora. “This one was a challenge to put together in one day, I barely got to actually play the game myself since most of my time went into getting this working,” they explained. “There’s a good chance some issues slipped through that I haven’t caught yet, but I’ll be fixing things up as I find them (or as you report them). Also want to be clear: this mod isn’t meant to be disrespectful to the developers of the game or Rebel Wolves in any way. I just enjoy modding as a hobby and figured this was something the community might get a kick out of.” And indeed they did. The mod already has 7,000 views and nearly 200 unique downloads, breaking containment and being passed around on X. I mean, c’mon. You’ve got a dark fantasy RPG developed by The Witcher 3 devs, launching on PC, with an entire modding community waiting in the wings ready to jump over and see if Blood of Dawnwalker is worth playing with. Of course Geralt would be among the first mods.
