Wi-Fi on planes has become increasingly common in recent years, with the move towards in-air connectivity on the rise.Now, the world's best airlines for Wi-Fi have been revealed, with Qatar Airways offering the slickest service in the sky.Every year, the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards highlight top-quality service offered across the industry.The results are based on a survey of more than 24.8million travellers globally, who rated more than 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026.Here's a rundown of the airlines offering the best internet connection services for passengers: 1. Qatar Airways Qatar Airways has been named the world's best airline for Wi-FiKnown for its quality service and high-end offerings on board, Qatar Airways also has top notch connectivity and takes the winning spot for best Wi-Fi.The airline offered the world's first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, allowing more than 25 million global passengers to stay connected onboard.It's not the only award the carrier won: it also scooped the prize for 'world's best business class', 'best airline in the Middle East' and 'best business class lounge'.2. Delta Air Lines In second place, scooping up the silver medal, is Delta Air LinesDelta Air Lines – a major airline in the United States – came second in the best Wi-Fi category. With fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile and available across nearly 1,200 aircraft – more than any other US airline – it's an impressive but perhaps unsurprising carrier to come in second.Its stellar offering is down to Delta's Connected Onboard Platform, which permits excellent connectivity on board.3. United Airlines Taking home the bronze medal is US-based United AirlinesIn third place is United Airlines, which has Wi-Fi available on most flights that works on almost any personal device.It offers high-speed inflight Wi-Fi enabled by Starlink for members.On US domestic and short-haul international flights without Starlink, Wi-Fi is $8 (£6) for MileagePlus members and $10 (£7.60) for other passengers. On long-haul international flights, it depends on your destination and journey length.4. Alaska Airlines In fourth place is Alaska Airlines, which features impressive Wi-FiUp next is Alaska Airlines, which offers ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi everywhere it flies. Guests flying with Alaska can enjoy live gaming, messaging and high-quality streaming across multiple devices throughout their journeys. Those travelling for business can also work as effectively in the air as they would on the ground.5. jetBlue Airways Low-cost carrier jetBlue Airways is up next on the listJoining the list is budget airline jetBlue Airways, which came fifth in the listings.JetBlue offers free, high-speed Wi-Fi at every seat, on all of its fleet.The low-cost carrier said it was the first major US airline to offer free Wi-Fi on every plane it flies. 6. Hawaiian Airlines Taking position number six on the ranking is Hawaiian AirlinesHawaiian Airlines offers free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile, bringing it into the top ten airlines for Wi-Fi.Mike Belcher, head of partnerships and business development at T-Mobile, said of the updated service, which was rolled out in collaboration with Alaska Airlines: 'Bringing complimentary inflight Wi-Fi to more travellers across both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines makes it easier to stay connected throughout their journey. 'The new, streamlined experience for accessing Wi-Fi reflects our shared commitment to delivering a better, more seamless travel experience.'7. Singapore Airlines Singapore Airlines was named the World's Best Airline, earning praise for its 'dedication to customer service'It's not just the glamorous business and first class cabins that give Singapore Airlines (SIA) its five-star rating.It has been named the World's Best Airline in the Skytrax World Airline Awards – and sixth for Wi-Fi. Meanwhile, Singapore Changi Airport has also won many awards for excellence in the past, such as Skytrax's World's Best Airport. 8. Virgin Atlantic Up next in eighth place is popular carrier Virgin AtlanticVirgin Atlantic Airways is no stranger to scooping up awards – this year, it also won APEX's Best Overall Airline for Europe. Free, high-speed Wi-Fi has been arriving on board Virgin Atlantic planes, with full rollout expected by 2027. The British airline was founded by entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson in 1984, and connects more than 200 cities around the world. 9. EVA Air Taiwan-based EVA Air fared well, coming in ninth placeTaiwan-based EVA Air has been labelled 'five-star' previously, and has now joined the top ten best airlines for Wi-Fi.EVA Air offers in-flight Wi-Fi across all cabin classes on Boeing 787, 777-300ER, and Airbus A330-300 aircraft.In fact, it is launching a promotion, from now to October 31, where passengers can enjoy complimentary full-flight 'Unlimited Web Browsing'.Skytrax previously said: 'The seating, amenity and food and beverage standards across all three onboard cabins are very good, with EVA Air rightly attributed as the pioneer of Premium Economy class back in 1992.' 10.
