No great build in S-Game's Phantom Blade Zero is complete without accessories. You can collect tons throughout its Kung-Fu Punk world, each bringing different perks for you and your adventures—some buff your HP, others your Sha-Chi, and plenty help you deal more damage in certain situations. We've now put close to 100 hours into the game, completed two playthroughs, and explored all the best weapons, and these are the ten accessories we couldn't have finished the game without. There are plenty of great accessories that don't make this list because they are too situational. For example, the Livingwood Talisman is top-tier if you're using a Bleed build, but has limited use outside of that. Elemental Resistance accessories are great when you're fighting certain bosses, but not so much when you're exploring the world. You'll need to be flexible. 10 Venom Pouch The Venom Pouch is a great little passive damage dealer. When upgraded, it has a 30 percent chance to poison enemies on a main weapon attack. Given how fast many of the game's weapons hit, it's almost guaranteed to poison your foes. It doesn't deal a bonkers amount of damage when an enemy is poisoned, but it's enough to chip away at their health and potentially turn the tide in your favor. I'm sure we've all had that one boss fight where one more hit would KO them—this does that for you. 9 Manor Medicine Pot It came down to having this or the Medicine Case in this list, and the Manor Medicine Pot won out. While the Medicine Case is great, boosting the healing from your medicinal items, it becomes obsolete once you've upgraded those medicines to the maximum. Instead, the Manor Medicine Pot has a 15 percent chance not to consume a medicine item when you use it. It's great for long boss battles or long stretches of adventure between Bells. 8 Remnant Spark Cube If you've read any of my Phantom Blade Zero pieces over the last week, you'll know I'm a big fan of the Phantom Edges. The Remnant Spark Cube increases the damage of every Phantom Edge by 25 percent when upgraded to +2. You could argue they don't need their damage output increased because many of them are already so mighty, but more damage is never a bad thing, right? The Hunter's Chain Sickle with this boost is an absolute monster. 7 Rouge Box You'll notice that the majority of the final accessories on this list have to do with Sha-Chi. It's vital in combat for pulling off powerful Sha-Chi combos and, most importantly, stopping you from being staggered. It's a fine balancing act of when to use it. The Rouge Box reduces the delay before you begin to recover Sha-Chi. This means you can pull off combos and recover quicker, or take more of a battering and have to worry less about being staggered, as your Sha-Chi recovers faster. 6 Miraculous Scabbard S-Game says the optimum way to play Phantom Blade Zero is to switch between two weapons on the fly, mid-combat. It's not necessarily the best or most fun way to play, but it's a reliable way for you to keep your Sha-Chi levels high, as every switch fully recovers any you've used. For those who follow this playing methodology, the Miraculous Scabbard is a no-brainer. It grants you Super Armor and damage reduction every time you switch weapons, making it a fantastic defensive tool. 5 Jewel's Knot The Jewel's Knot is great. It's simple, but mightily effective, boosting your total HP by 25 percent when upgraded to +1. It gives a fantastic buffer to anybody worried about taking damage from bosses. It shines even more in NG+, with its +2 upgrade reducing the damage you take by a further three percent. 25 percent extra health plus three percent damage reduction is hard to beat. 4 Sha-Chi Headscarf The Sha-Chi Headscarf is a slightly more effective version of the Rouge Box, and in most circumstances, it's better to take this over it. It significantly increases your Sha-Chi recovery rate, so while the delay will remain, you'll refill your Sha-Chi bar in no time, getting you ready to pull off more powerful Sha-Chi combos. 3 Broken Vessel Speaking of powerful Sha-Chi combos, the Broken Vessel is one of the game's most useful accessories. Every time you press Triangle, you'll start a Sha-Chi combo. These combos deal more damage than regular attacks at the cost of Sha-Chi. It gives you the aforementioned element of risk—how many Sha-Chi attacks should you do, risking being Guard Broken? This accessory mitigates that risk a little, as, after being upgraded to +1, you'll deal 25 percent more damage with each Sha-Chi attack. You'll often Guard Break enemies before they can hit you. 2 Resonance Talisman The Resonance Talisman is the Sha-Chi equivalent of the Jewel's Knot. It boosts your total Sha-Chi, meaning you'll be able to pull off more combos and avoid being Guard Broken for longer periods. At +1, the Resonance Talisman grants a 25 percent increase to your total Sha-Chi. In NG+, at +2, you'll gain a bonus five percent. It's not an insignificant amount and can make all the difference in some of Phantom Blade Zero's toughest battles, especially when combined with something like the Sha-Chi Headscarf. 1 Reflex Device The Reflex Device is the cream of the crop when it comes to Phantom Blade Zero's accessories. You find it early on, hidden in Weeping Creek Valley's Sha-Chi tower, and once you get it, you'll likely never want to take it off. It increases your timing window for Parrying and Perfect Dodging by 25 percent, buying you a few extra vital frames. In NG+ it also helps to buff your Sha-Chi, giving you a five percent boost for every NG+ level you raise it.
