Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal approaches Supreme Court against High Court's rape case convictionFormer Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal on Thursday approached the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court’s verdict convicting him in the 2013 rape case involving his colleague, days after the High Court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.The Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court, on August 6, overturned Tejpal's acquittal by a Goa trial court and convicted him of raping his junior colleague in 2013, during an official event in Panaji. The High Court subsequently sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.Tejpal’s appeal comes shortly after the Goa government also moved the Supreme Court seeking an enhancement of his sentence.
