Teenager who had 'dangerous' obsession with serial killers and 'hatred of women' left written confession before stabbing girl at his school, court told

A teenager with a ‘dangerous interest’ in serial killers and ‘hatred of women’ who stabbed a girl at his school had left a written confession for police to find, a court heard today. The note allegedly outlined how the boy - who thought he would be dead when it was found - believed he saw ‘disgust’ for him in other people’s eyes and described his desire to slit the throat of a girl he thought had slighted him.Asking himself whether he was an ‘incel’ or ‘misogynist’, he added: ‘No, I just have good judgement.’The teenager was 15 when he plunged a knife into the shoulder of the other pupil at Thorpe St Andrew School, near Norwich in Norfolk. He is now on trial for attempted murder and a jury has heard how he had made videos and had other material featuring notorious killers such as Ted Bundy and Suffolk Strangler Steve Wright.Notes found by police appeared to show a motive, it is claimed, which the boy described as ‘misanthropy, misogyny, suicide, bullying’.Continuing his opening speech today, prosecutor Chris Paxton KC described how police searched his room after he was arrested and found notes pinned to his wall. One said: ‘My barren world. Hello to all readers out there in the UK and perhaps the world. If you’re reading this, I’m either dead or in custody.’ Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich in Norfolk was placed in lockdown after a girl was stabbed He continued: ‘My resentment for myself and others has only grown throughout my existence. I thought it got better. I tried to make it better.‘But I see it in people's eyes. The disgust. Perhaps it's reflection of me? No. My reflection is what fuels their hatred. Ever since the failure of a relationship, my hatred for women has fuelled.‘A girl I've never met before said something degrading to me the other day. I wanted to cut that ugly bitch's throat. And her retarded little slut friend.‘They're nothing but fools that know nothing about life or feelings. Am I evil for that? Probably. Am I an incel? A misogynist? No. I just have good judgement.’Elsewhere, the defendant, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said he had always ‘felt an attraction to chaos’.‘I don't know the reason. My brain clicks at the thought of chaos. Of blood. Of murder,’ he allegedly wrote.‘After I realised that I don't want a future, I came to the notion that I have another option. I've seen killers being admired. I want admiration. Gratification. Police were called to the area after the suspect - a male pupil - ran from the scene, King's Lynn Crown Court has heard‘I've wanted this for years. I don't care who I hurt. Not anymore.’King’s Lynn Crown Court has heard how a teacher chased after the masked teenager when he was made aware of the stabbing on March 11 this year.CCTV footage seen by the jury showed the pupil running away and leaping over the school gate, leaving behind a glove. The school was then put on ‘lockdown’ while police hunted for the suspect. When he was arrested by police shortly afterwards, his backpack is said to have contained the other glove, the mask and a black woollen hat.The trial heard earlier how the boy, who is now 16, had directed officers to the knife he used.Mr Paxton said his victim was taken to hospital and treated for a wound to the left of her spine at the level of her shoulder blade. In a recorded interview played to the court today, the injured teenager said she hadn’t recognised her attacker when he approached her in a corridor. Paramedics and police were called to the secondary school after the incident on March 11 this yearDescribing what happened, she added she felt a hand on her shoulder before ‘it felt like he punched me’.‘Then I realised he didn’t punch me… I started speed walking because I didn’t want to get beaten up but then [a teacher] screamed at me and I started running,’ the girl said.‘I was struggling to open the door because everything was going numb and I was feeling weak. I felt a sharp pain in my back as I opened the door.’The girl, who said staff helped by applying pressure to the wound before she went to hospital, told the interviewing officer there was no reason why someone would want to harm her.Giving evidence in court, she added she didn't know her attacker and had never seen him before. During cross-examination, the girl confirmed she hadn't realised she had been stabbed initially and denied that her attacker had pushed her away afterwards. On the first day of the trial, the court heard how the boy had developed a ‘dangerous interest in killers and killing’.An app was used to create disturbing videos, including one showing serial killers Ed Kemper and Ted Bundy 'dancing over a still image of the globe’. Officers combing the area following the stabbing, which led to the victim having treatment in hospital before being released the next dayHe also allegedly made a video compilation of BBC series The Fall’s twisted killer, Paul Spector.Another showed Dexter Morgan, a serial killer vigilante from the long-running US programme Dexter, ‘dancing over a map of Florida with a list of names of the victims’.The jury was told the boy had also written that he had 'seen killers being admired, I want admiration'.Notes allegedly found by police at the family home included one that said: ‘I really want to do it, really bad. I hate having to wait… but I have to wait. I need a plan.’It ended: ‘I want at least two, maybe three. I’d be proud of five.’Elsewhere the teenager allegedly scrawled: ‘The idea of violence or possibly even murder sparks something in me.‘I don’t know what it is or what it means either. But I think I like the idea of it. It inspires me.’He is also said to have written a short essay in which he described stabbing a man in the street with a 10” knife. It concluded: ‘He turned his head and torso towards me. In a second I cover his mouth with my hand, his scream muffled.‘I stab him directly in his heart… he was dead.’ The victim told police in a recorded interview that she at first thought she had been 'punched' but later felt a 'sharp pain' in her backThe court heard the defendant took a kitchen knife in November last year and later went to his mother to confess he was ‘feeling down and had intended to hurt himself but he chickened out’.This followed a personal issue he was dealing with and help was sought from his school. He also agreed to have counselling.Mr Paxton has informed the jury that the schoolboy – who ‘remained silent’ during his police interview – had admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed article but denied attempted murder. He told them today: ‘[The defendant] accepts he stabbed [the girl], so the main issue in this case relates to [his] intention.‘We, the prosecution, say that [he] had an intention to kill. That is why he had a knife, that is why he approached her from behind, that is why he stabbed her in the back, bringing the knife up and back before striking it into her.‘Further, we say his intention is made plain not just by those moments of the stabbing but by his notes, and his obsession with killing, and being fuelled by hatred.’The trial continues.
