The singer introduced a new mystery while appearing in a pre-taped sketch that aired during the Monday, Sept. 14 Emmy Awards. The skit parodied one of Swift’s favorite television shows, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”As the “Law & Order: SVU” team pored over increasingly convoluted clues to determine whether Swift would attend television’s biggest night, the pop star entered and said, “I think what we’re gonna be looking for is hiding in plain sight.”Swift then turned to the camera and uttered a cryptic phrase: “saccahride, Aries, from the vineyard, north or south.” Emmys host Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson on “Law & Order: SVU,” ultimately determined that Swift wouldn’t attend the Emmys because her husband, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, had a game against the Denver Broncos that night. “The answer has been TV this whole time!” Hargitay said, turning on the television to reveal a Chiefs game.The word “TV” could have a double meaning in this case. Swifties know that “TV” also stands for Taylor’s Version, the name given to Swift’s rerecorded albums. Some Swifties think “from the vineyard” could mean “from the vault,” a nod to the vault tracks that accompany each of her recorded albums. Others think the words represent unreleased song titles. The skit also featured a clue wall, which had clues pointing to songs from Swift’s debut album. There was a friendship bracelet that read “Picture to Burn” and a drawing of a guitar with a crying emoji, a clear nod to “Teardrops on My Guitar.” Swifties will just have to wait and see whether their sleuthing efforts were correct.
