Taylor Sheridan's hit crime thriller series is back, and it has instantly become a streaming sensation. Sheridan's list of TV shows runs wide, with the creator even writing most, if not all, the episodes of many of his hit series. Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise plays a key role in his Hollywood ascent, with that original show becoming so popular that not only did it start a new wave of Western TV shows and movies, but also led to multiple Yellowstone prequels and sequels coming to life in TV show format. However, Sheridan also has a knack for crime thrillers, no matter the medium. That includes the Sicario movie franchise, which is getting another entry without Sheridan as a writer, and action-packed series created by Sheridan, such as the spy thriller Lioness, the crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown, and more. Among those genre series is Tulsa King, which was created by Sheridan back in 2022. Unlike many of Sheridan's other TV shows, the creator does not write all or most of Tulsa King's episodes himself, having only penned the pilot alongside Terence Winter, the crime thriller series' head writer. Now, Tulsa King has returned, quickly recovering its status as a Paramount+ streaming sensation. Sheridan's Tulsa King Season 4 Is Back & Asserting Its Power On Paramount+ At the time of writing, Tulsa King is the most popular series on Paramount+'s Top 10 TV Shows chart in the United States, as per FlixPatrol. Tulsa King season 4's premiere was released on Paramount+ this Friday, October 16. Based on that, it only took a single day of availability for the new episode to push the Sheridan crime thriller series all the way up to #1 on Paramount+, climbing nine spots, as it was previously the streamer's 10th most-watched TV show in the US. Tulsa King season 4 is an instant streaming hit, continuing the series' successful run. Choose the movie with the higher Rotten Tomatoes score. By taking Paramount+'s top spot nationwide, Tulsa King dethroned the previous chart topper, the animated series South Park. As for where the Sheridan crime thriller series stands around the world, the show ranks just a step lower. According to data from FlixPatrol, Tulsa King is currently the 2nd most-watched TV show on Paramount+ worldwide. The only project to rank higher than it is Tom Hardy's MobLand, another of the streamer's hit crime series. Other Sheridan shows, including Lioness, Marshals, and Yellowstone, are also on the global chart. Additionally, Tulsa King is trending on Paramount+ in 28 countries (via FlixPatrol). Where Does Season 4 Pick Up The Hit Crime Series? Tulsa King season 4 has also debuted with a solid standing with critics. Right now, Tulsa King season 4 holds a high 80% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, though that should fluctuate in the coming week, as the Paramount+ crime thriller series' new season only has five reviews logged so far. Story-wise, the TV show picks back up with Sylvester Stallone's Dwight Manfredi, the title crime boss, as he fights to legitimize the criminal empire that he has built over the previous three seasons. What succeeds is Tulsa becoming a battleground, with danger coming from every corner. Tulsa King season 5 is already in production.
