Zoe Saldaña, who portrays Joe McNamara in the espionage thriller, Lioness, has found major success working with Sheridan. However, the actor currently has no plans to take on more roles in the legendary creator’s growing collection of TV shows for several reasons. After three seasons playing the CIA operative on the Paramount+ series, Saldaña has revealed in an interview with People why she doesn't want to star in any more Sheridan projects. He explained that the demanding role takes up a massive amount of time, leaving little to no room for other TV shows or films. The actor also serves as an executive producer on the series, giving her even more responsibilities. Saldaña further elaborated, stating that being the lead of Lioness requires a considerable commitment throughout production. As the top-billed performer, she is involved in very long days on set and begins preparing for the series months before filming gets underway. This has left her with little energy, and adding another Sheridan-created series to her workload would be too much to handle. Although she is limiting herself to Lioness for now, Saldaña has a very positive professional relationship with Sheridan. She believes their experience together has allowed the writer and producer to understand the level of commitment she brings to her work. Saldaña said that she is very involved in the creative process, as well as willing to bring her own perspective and opinions to the production. Lioness season 3 continues to push Joe even further into the dangerous fallout that comes with the territory of her career. The story follows criminal networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals as threats begin to affect her personal life.
