OCTOBER 6, 2026 08:41Updated: OCTOBER 6, 2026 09:06A 50-year-old man and his 13-year-old boy were seriously and moderately wounded in a vehicle explosion and fire in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood on Tuesday, Israel Police and Magen David Adom said.Jerusalem District police officers arrived at the scene, began collecting evidence, and opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion. Police said the background to the incident was believed to be criminal.Israeli media reports indicated that the blast was suspected to have been an attempted assassination and that the 50-year-old man was known to police as a criminal. Police had not publicly confirmed those details in their initial statement.MDA emergency medic Haki Har Kesef said medical teams arrived to find a vehicle on fire and debris scattered around it."Nearby were a man about 50 years old and a boy about 13 years old.
