Susie Cave is custom designing Phoebe Bridgers’ wardrobe for ‘The Lost Tour’

Susie Cave is designing the entire wardrobe for Phoebe Bridgers as she heads out on ‘The Lost Tour’, and has described it as “ a real privilege” to see her designs “come to life on stage”. READ MORE: Phoebe Bridgers – ‘Lost Weekend’ review: indie’s poet laureate returns with a staggering, strange and stirring opus Bridgers recently kicked off her first full tour since 2023, having largely been away as a solo artist for years now. Dates kicked off in Indiana on September 15, and has so far seen her play live in Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Michigan and more over the past couple of weeks, all in support of ‘Lost Weekend’ – her first solo record since 2020’s ‘Punisher’. At each of the shows, Bridgers has been performing with a relatively stripped-back setting, with moody lighting and stunning gowns that capture the atmosphere of her new album. Now, Susie Cave – renowned fashion designer and wife of Nick Cave – has confirmed that she custom-made the entire wardrobe for the tour. “It has been such a great honour to be asked to design Phoebe Bridgers’ wardrobe for ‘The Lost Tour’,” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of the singer on stage in a lacy black dress. “Phoebe is such an extraordinary artist, and it has been a real privilege to create these dresses for her and to see them come to life on stage. 🖤” “Thank you, Phoebe, for trusting me,” added Cave, who has also designed custom dresses and gowns for Florence Welch. The US tour kicked off after Bridgers played a small handful of acoustic shows in recent weeks, including a last-minute set at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.Recommended She also played two small, phone-free concerts at London’s Union Chapel in August to celebrate her 32nd birthday, and had been due to play three further stops in Kingston, Brighton and Bristol this week, but those shows had to be cancelled due to her hospitalisation. Since then, the songwriter has announced rescheduled dates for her intimate UK shows and celebrated her first solo Number One album from hospital. Next month, she’ll head kick off her UK and Ireland dates, including a slot at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow and The O2 in London, before wrapping up the tour with seven stops across Europe. The latter includes shows in Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris, before ending with a stop at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm on December 12. Visit here for tickets. Nick Cave has often spoken about the inspiration he has drawn from Susie over the years, and told fans back in 2018 that he had spent two decades trying to capture the essence of her in his poetry and songwriting. “Twenty years on and I am still trying to define Susie… but it’s a losing battle. I have come to see that there is a wild and mercurial energy within her that my words will never contain, and that this bright energy is connected to her own singular and restless fascination with the world. It has little to do with me,” he wrote at the time.
