As no other vehicle was immediately available, her family arranged an auto-rickshaw and set off for the hospital.However, the auto-rickshaw soon got stuck in heavy traffic and remained stranded for around 15 to 20 minutes as the woman’s labour pains intensified.The hospital was only a short distance away, but the gridlock brought traffic to a standstill. With the vehicle unable to move forward, the woman eventually gave birth inside the auto-rickshaw. Watch the video here:The incident has renewed concerns over the impact of the area's traffic congestion on people facing medical emergencies. Traffic jams can pose a particular challenge for ambulances and other emergency vehicles, where even short delays can become critical.
