Stephen Miller will thrive against ‘hostile media’ as chief of staff: Joe Concha

Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said President Donald Trump’s new White House chief of staff Stephen Miller is going to excel at pushing back against media members.“Stephen Miller, every time you watch him on CNN, you want to call 911 to report a rhetorical murder,” Concha said on Fox News’s Saturday in America. In a February 2025 interview, Miller clashed with CNN Brianna Keilar after she asked whether the Department of Government Efficiency was using IRS data to identify illegal immigrants. Miller raised his voice, saying, “The federal government will find every illegal alien who is stealing American taxpayer dollars.” “The reason why he is chief of staff is because of interviews like that,” Concha said.Concha said he joked with Miller that he needed to be “more candid” and he was “too shy.” Miller was named White House chief of staff to replace Susie Wiles. He is set to take the role on Nov. 9. Trump announced the switch after the midterm elections caused significant losses for Republicans.“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Susie Wiles, who has done an outstanding job, will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation.”WHO IS STEPHEN MILLER? TRUMP’S NEWEST CHIEF OF STAFFConcha said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance also excelled at pushing back against “hostile media.”Miller has been an ally to Trump and is likely to push for more military action against drug cartels in Latin America.
