The hearing was the latest in a months-long push by the Trump administration to bring qualified psychedelic drug programs to market. Discussions at the ​meeting focused on practical issues that could shape how psychedelic therapies are tested and delivered, including provider training ​and credentials, patient screening and monitoring, access and reimbursement, clinic capacity, and collecting long-term ⁠safety data. GSK has continued its drive to bulk up its pipeline, taking global rights to a multiple myeloma treatment, which was developed by China’s Chimagen Biosciences, for up to $750 million, Pharmaphorum writes. The deal focuses on a “potential first-in-class” trispecific T-cell engager that, according to GSK, promises to combine good targeting of multiple myeloma cells but also offer improved safety compared to other TCEs for the blood cancer, which it says have suffered from “difficult tolerability profiles.” Chimagen’s unidentified candidate is currently in preclinical-stage development and due to start human testing next year.
