Star Wars Eclipse And KOTOR Remake Are Officially Still Alive

Star Wars may not be doing so well in the world of movies and TV shows, but it’s absolutely flourishing when it comes to video games. The Jedi games, Zero Company, the unfairly bashed Outlaws, and Squadrons have all been big hits over the past few years, and they’re just the start, with plenty of other big projects in the works. As well as the recently announced Fate of the Old Republic and the unannounced but confirmed third Jedi game, two of the biggest upcoming Star Wars games are also the ones we’ve been waiting on the longest - the KOTOR remake and Quantic Dream’s Star Wars Eclipse. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from either, which might be why Lucasfilm just reminded us they exist. Long-Lost Star Wars Eclipse And KOTOR Remake Highlighted By Lucasfilm Nothing New To See Here, Folks Earlier today, Lucasfilm Games randomly uploaded a 2026 games sizzle reel to its YouTube channel that highlights and celebrates some of its biggest releases, from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Beyond serving as a reminder of the killer few years that Lucasfilm has been having, the sizzle reel also teases the future. Surprisingly included in the sizzle reel are Star Wars Eclipse and the particularly troubled KOTOR remake. While it’s true that both games are big upcoming projects from Lucasfilm that it’ll surely want to spotlight, it’s been so long since we’ve had an update from either game that it’s a surprise to see them mentioned out of nowhere like this. It’s also more than a little funny that after five years, we’re still seeing the exact same footage of both the KOTOR remake and Star Wars Eclipse. Both games were announced all the way back in 2021, but their infamously troubled and lengthy development cycles means we haven’t been shown anything new since those first trailers. On the brighter side, the appearance of both games in the Lucasfilm sizzle reel does at least confirm once again that neither game has been quietly cancelled. Sadly, those kinds of updates are pretty much the only thing we’ve got over the past few years. I think we all hope that changes sooner rather than later.
