Star Trek Day was particularly eventful, with fans getting an unexpected Spock crossover thanks to the new Rediscovered update in Star Trek Online. Fans are also looking forward to the new Magic the Gathering x Star Trek release in November, and are counting down the days for Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, which will take the franchise into a whole new genre. On the television front, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is currently carrying the torch, with Season 4 streaming weekly on Paramount+ and continuing Captain Pike and the Enterprise crew’s adventures throughout the anniversary celebration. Starfleet Academy is preparing to return for a second season after its debut earlier this year, with filming already complete despite Paramount+ not yet announcing a premiere date. Between an active flagship show, a new generation of Starfleet cadets finding its footing, and major projects still waiting in the wings, Star Trek’s 60th year feels much more like the beginning of its next era than a simple celebration of the past. And fans will want to mark their calendars for the upcoming launch of Know They Enemy, available September 22. MovieStillsDB Know Thy Enemy is a new five-player Space Task Force Operation for Star Trek Online's Rediscovered update built directly around the season's renewed conflict with the Klingon B'vat. In Star Trek Online, TFOs are repeatable co-op missions that match groups of players together to complete a series of combat-focused objectives. Most put five Captains into either a dedicated ground or space scenario, making them essentially STO's version of instanced MMO dungeons or raids. Know Thy Enemy takes place inside a Klingon holosimulation created by B'vat, with players participating in a brutal training exercise intended to uncover weaknesses in the Federation. Rather than simply fighting Klingons, Captains are effectively being asked to carry out B'vat's own vision of an attack against their allies, turning the TFO into another window into the villain's larger plans. Cryptic says the operation will test players' tactical instincts, strength, cunning, and endurance, although detailed phase-by-phase objectives have not yet been revealed ahead of launch. The TFO also fits directly into the larger story of Rediscovered, which continues the remastered "Ultimate Klingon" storyline begun with Undiscovered. Disturbances surrounding the disappearances of Miral Paris and B'vat send Captains back through Star Trek history across its various eras, while the new story episode brings together Ethan Peck's Lieutenant Spock, Piotr Michael's Captain Spock, and archival dialogue from Leonard Nimoy's Commander Spock. Star Trek Online Season 37: Rediscovered launches September 22 on PC, followed by PlayStation and XBOX on November 10, marking yet another monumental announcement for Star Trek's 60th.
